THE EMPTY DISPENSER

Freddy was fortunate enough to be among the few soldiers that escaped from the war front. The battle was fierce but he made it among a few others.
The tyres of the hillux vehicle swooshed on the wet tarred road as the vehicle came to a screeching halt in front of the barracks. The soldiers hopped out of the vehicle.
The barracks was quiet, a grievous and palpable silence filled the whole place. Freddy shook his head; Many men had gone down!
He shrugged and paced up. He needed to get to his lodge ASAP and just for one reason- WATER.
He had not taken water for days now and his whole system longed for it. His throat was very parched and his saliva was really viscous. He was totally dehydrated! Freddy felt like if he didn’t take water in the next few minutes, he would die! If water didn’t quench the fire in him immediately then he might just get razed down by it.
He yanked the door open and scurried to the water dispenser on his wooden table. He moved his shaky hands and picked up a glass cup.
He pressed the cold water button like his life depended on it- actually it did.
He sighed. He couldn’t wait to start drinking.
Nothing!
He pressed the button harder as though he wanted to break the phalanges in his fore-finger.
Nothing!
Drip, drip, drip.
He looked down and he saw a puddle of water, the dispenser had leaked out all it’s content.
He shook the dispenser vehemently- It was empty!
He snorted noisily he slapped his forehead with an open palm.
He kicked the dispenser with his dirty boots and with all the strength he could muster then he fell with it.
He felt life gradually slip out of him.
Freddy pointed his trembling finger at the dispenser like it was a living being.
“I filled you for a time like this, yet to failed me!” He yelled with all the strength within him. He gave a loud gasp and then gave up the ghost!

Jesus cursed the fig tree because it was well nutured but when the master was hungry (when he needed the fig tree the most) it was useless!
……And now also the axe is laid unto the root of the trees: therefore every tree which bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down and cast into the fire…..Matt3:4
God has invested much into you. Are you draining heavens resource? Have you been punctured by sin or careless living and hence left leaking?
……From everyone who has been given much, much will be demanded; and from the one who has been entrusted with much, much more will be asked…. Luke12;48.
I just pray that the Lord wouldn’t have a cause to say like Freddy that;
“I filled you for a time like this, yet you failed me!”
